Serving with Youth With A Mission, Tyler
We joined YWAM Tyler in the fall of 1995 as Accounting Coordinators. We have the privilege of handling the processing of finances for over 1600 missionaries worldwide. In 2005 we saw 9.8 million dollars go out to these missionaries. We also get the opportunity to serve the approximately 250 staff that call YWAM Tyler home by handling the finances for the operations of the base. We presently have a staff of 10 in our department and they are a great team to work with. They have held up our arms many times when the load can and does get exceedingly heavy. It is so important that we handle all the Lord has provided for ourselves, the base and the missionaries with integrity being good stewards in every area. A couple of scriptures that we always share when training the new staff is
"Giving no cause for offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God... "
II Cor 6:3,4
"O Lord, who may abide in Your tent? Who may dwell on Your holy hill? He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, and speaks truth in his heart" Psalm 15:1-2
The functions that have the most value to us are being able to report with accuracy the needed information that enables this ministry to benefit the Kingdom of God.
Another area of ministry that we get to invest in is the pre-married and married couples. For the last 15 years we have enjoyed so much counseling in this area and we just recently became certified in R.E.A.P.P. (Relationship Enrichment By Applying Preventative Principles). We will soon be holding workshops with couples and prayerfully in the near future with singles here at the base. These workshop have multiplied rapidly in Europe, South America, Africa and in the Philippines with great response and results. We love teaching and sharing and are so thankful that God gives us these opportunities every once in a while.
